Car falls in canal after head-on collision with another vehicle
Two cars collided at Adda Posi on bank of the Bist-Doab canal on the Garhshankar-Adampur road today. After collision, one car fell into the canal. Both the cars were badly damaged in the accident. Occupants of both the vehicles were saved on time.
According to information, veterinary officer Dr Rajendra Kumar, a resident of Garhshankar, was going towards Mehtiana in his Innova car. When he reached intersection of Adda Posi around 2 pm, a speeding Alto car came on the main from Posi village side and both the vehicles collided. In the collision, the Alto car overturned on side of the road, while Innova fell into the canal. As there was no water in the canal Innova occupant managed to come out of the vehicle safely. Four people were travelling in the Alto car. According to passersby, car occupants suffered some injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment with help of the people.
Till the time of filing of this report, Alto car occupants could not be identified. The driver of the Innova car, Rajinder Kumar, a veterinary officer, had a narrow escape in the accident.
