Palkit Sidhu of MGN Public School, Urban Estate, Phase II, and Moksha Bansal of Shiv Jyoti Public School jointly secured the first position in the district in the CBSE Class XII examinations, the results of which were declared this morning. Both Palkit and Moksha have scored 99.4 per cent marks each in the commerce stream.
The second position in the district was bagged by Jayash Mahajan (commerec stream) of Lala Jagat Narain DAV Model School with 99 per cent marks, while the thrid rank has been shared by Arshit Bery (commerce stream) of CJS Public School and Gunpriya (medical stream) of Sanskriti KMV School by scoring 98.8 per cent marks each.
Talking to Jalandhar Tribune, district topper Palkit Sidhu, daughter of CID AIG Rajeshwar Singh Sidhu, said she had a flexible schedule during exam days. She said maintaining consistency throughout the year was the key mantra that helped her in learning every topic precisely.
“I never missed any class and I had prepared a subject-wise timetable which had no fixed hours. Sometimes I used to study for three to four hours, while some days just one hour. I strongly believe that good marks cannot be attained by studying at the last hour. Instead, the last days should only be utilised for revision and maintaining pace in every topic,” she said.
She further said she was interested in accounts, thus, she has decided to pursue her higher studies in finance. On being questioned, what she aims to become in future, she said she was still exploring but it would definitely be related to handling finances etc.
Moksha Bansal said: “I didn’t follow any strict schedule. I only followed a timetable which was target based. I used to set deadlines for myself such as completing a chapter in fixed time. Besides, I never burdened myself with studies and always kept my concepts clear.” She said she completely owes the achievement to her teachers and parents as they were supportive and guided her at every step.
Meanwhile, other meritorious students of the district said meticulous planning of all subjects helped them score well. “Besides hard work, following a timetable and focusing on studies had been the key mantra which helped me secure good marks,” said a student, Khushi Jain, adding that she now aspires to become a successful chartered accountant.
Non-medical stream topper Sarthak said: “My focus was on preparing for JEE. I scored 99.85 percentile in JEE (Main) exam. My mantra for studies has always been smart work.”
