The team members visited the site where the burnt coaches are kept around 10.40 am and examined them till 11.30 am. The railway engineers also verified the batteries to check whether the spark broke out due to a technical fault. However, the reason is still unclear.

Shailendra Kumar, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer; Mukund Mathur, Chief Operations Manager, General; and Prakash, Chief Electrical Engineer, were part of the team.

After inspecting the coaches, Mathur said nothing could be said until forensic reports were received as technical glitches couldn’t be solely held responsible for the fire. In addition, he denied the reports that someone had set coaches on fire.

According to information, the team members also held a meeting with Firozpur Division officials, RPF officers and Fire Brigade personnel in this regard.
