Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, Ravneet Bittu on Sunday said the Centre had accorded full MSP of paddy to the farmers but the AAP government in the state had imposed the ‘cuts’.

He asked the Congress MPs and state leaders – who had been raising the paddy MSP issue – to seek a CBI probe into the matter to uncover the truth.

Bittu made these comments on sidelines of his visit to the under-construction Jalandhar Cantt railway station, which he said would be dedicated to the public in the first quarter of 2025.

He further said that in the upcoming civic body elections, the BJP will have mayors in all the major cities of the state.

“In all big cities like Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala, Bathinda, you will see mayors from the BJP. AAP is running away from elections but has to relent to the Supreme Court directions. We see a contest between BJP and Congress,” he said.

“In Lok Sabha elections, BJP won sizeable wards in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Patiala. The party will perform even better this time. The AAP government is about to go,” added the BJP leader.
