CGST Jalandhar marks Goods & Services Tax Day with industry, tax professionals

On the occasion of the completion of eight years of the GST (Goods & service tax) regime and to celebrate GST Day, a meeting with representatives of trade, professionals, tax experts and individual taxpayers was held at the Central GST Commissionerate office here.

Kumar Gaurav Dhawan, Commissioner, Central GST Jalandhar, convened the meeting, which was attended by Ramesh Mittal, Chairman of Lovely Group; Sharad Aggarwal, President of the Northern Chamber of Small & Medium Industries; Ashwani Kumar, President, Hand Tools Manufacturers Association; Narinder S Sagoo, President, Jalandhar Focal Point Extension Association; Ashwani Jindal, General Secretary, Chartered Accountants Association; Amit Bajaj, General Secretary, Taxation Bar; and Ashwani Kumar Gupta, Chartered Accountant.

The Commissioner appreciated the role of industry and professionals for their efforts and cooperation in the implementation of the GST regime. On the occasion, eminent taxpayers and professionals were presented with mementoes as a token of appreciation for their services towards augmenting government revenue and nation-building. Similarly, commendation certificates were awarded to outstanding officers of Central GST Jalandhar for their exceptional services during the year 2024-25.
