Chabbewal-Sina link road to be built at Rs 4 crore, says MP

Punjab Government has approved the widening and strengthening of Chabbewal-Bajrawar-Patti-Sasoli-Sina link road, the work of which would be completed at a cost of Rs 4 crore.

Giving information in this regard, MP Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that the road would be broadened to 18 feet from the existing 10 feet, which would further ease the movement for villagers of this region. He said that the state government had also given its approval to name the road after renowned Punjabi singer Satinder Sartaj, who has brought laurels to Punjab and Punjabiyat through his melodious singing across the globe.

In view of the demand of Bajrawar panchayat and residents of nearby villages, Chabbewal and local MLA Ishank Kumar said they had taken up the matter with the state government and officials concerned to get this project approved. Now, the work on the project will commence shortly and completed within the stipulated time.

Chabbewal pointed out that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann development had taken new pace in the state. According to the MP, in Chabbewal constituency, a 5.63-km-long road was being constructed at a cost of Rs 2.47 crore to Parsowal via Bishohi and Bassi Kalan, while on the Hoshiarpur-Phagwara road to Purhiran-Atalgarh-Mehmowal-Falahi-Harmoya via Tajowal and Hukran, a 13.06-km- long stretch was being further strengthened at cost of Rs 5.10 crore.

The MP mentioned that a 3.72 km-long road stretch from Mahilpur to Jhanjowal via Kaharpur was being widened from 10 feet to 18 feet with an outlay of Rs. 2.31 crore. Similarly, Mahilpur-Jaijon-Rampur to Fatehpur-Kangar Kothi-Gangowal road will be made broadened to 18 feet from the existing 10 feet and this 6.47 km stretch was being laid at a cost of Rs 4.23 crore.

Ishank added that they were making all-out efforts to further improve and enhance road infrastructure in the constituency, which would be immensely beneficial for residents, especially daily commuters. He said he was personally monitoring the development projects in Chabbewal constituency, especially pertaining to health, education, road network and public welfare schemes so as to get these done in an efficacious manner.
