Chemist association extends help to flood victims

People from different sections of the district are continuously coming forward to help flood victims.

In this context, today, District Jalandhar Chemist Association and Retail Chemist Association Jalandhar handed over cheques worth Rs 2,52,100 to Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Agarwal for ‘Chief Minister Rangla Punjab Fund’.

On the occasion, President Sanjay Sehgal, Chairman Tajinderpal Singh, Vice- Chairman JS Chawla, General Secretary Jaspal Singh, Working President Dev Sharma, Working General Secretary Manendra Singh and Senior Vice-President Sunil Kakkar of the association, were present.

Appreciating this initiative taken by the chemist associations to help flood victims, Dr Agarwal said the contribution will help in getting the flood affected people in difficult times. He said that the Punjab government is continuously working for the rehabilitation of the flood victims and social workers and philanthropists are also actively contributing to providing relief to the flood victims by joining hands with the state government.

He said any citizen who wants to cooperate in helping the flood victims can donate to the Chief Minister Rangla Punjab Fund. He said that this initiative taken by the chemist associations for the good of humanity will also inspire other social workers and philanthropists to come forward to help the flood victims.
