Dr Ishank Kumar, MLA from Chabbewal, attended the 77th annual conference of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) and the 23rd Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology (AOCR 2025) held at the Chennai Trade Centre last week. As the guest of honour, Dr Ishank Kumar was among the 200 eminent speakers and delegates from India and other countries who gathered for Asia’s largest congress on radiology and diagnostic imaging. Dr Ishank Kumar was honoured by the IRIA for becoming the youngest Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the radiologists’ fraternity, underscoring his commitment to the advancement of healthcare in his region.

The event provided a platform for renowned experts and thought leaders in the field of radiology to share their knowledge through engaging lectures, innovative demonstrations and hands-on workshops. The theme of this year’s conference, “Clinical Radiology Decoded: See like a Surgeon, Think like a Physician”, resonated with the participants. Dr Kumar highlighted the pivotal role radiologists play in enhancing healthcare outcomes in his address.

Dr Ishank Kumar also expressed his gratitude to Dr C Amarnath, the organising chairman, Dr L Murali Krishna, the organising secretary, with special mention of Dr Gurdeep Singh, president, national IRIA.
