City man honoured with Young Architect of the Year award
City-based architect, Thakur Udayveer Singh, the founder of Space Race Architects, has been awarded the IIA Young Architect of the Year Award, 2023. He was honoured at the national IIA Young Architects Festival held in Goa recently, which witnessed participation from leading architects across India.
This recognition by the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) celebrates Singh’s outstanding contributions to the field of architecture, particularly his innovative designs, sustainable practices and commitment to pushing the boundaries of the profession.
Singh’s career has been marked by numerous accolades on both national and international levels. In 2020, he won the prestigious World Architecture Community Award for his work on Nirmal Kutiya Gurdwara under the ‘realised interior design’ category, becoming the first architect from the state to receive this recognition. He was also one of the 30 architects from Punjab who were honoured by the state government last year for their innovative projects.
Expressing gratitude, Singh said, “This award is a testament to our team’s dedication and passion for architectural excellence. We are deeply honoured to be recognised by the IIA and remain committed to creating innovative and sustainable designs that push the boundaries of architecture.”
