They said the operation involved strategically placed checkpoints in high-traffic and commercial areas, where police personnel rigorously checked vehicles for compliance with the traffic laws.

In all, 16 challans were issued for triple riding on motorcycles, 15 for helmet-less riding, 17 for vehicles without number plates, 17 for black-tinted windows, eight for modified Bullet motorcycle silencers and seven for driving without a licence. Seven vehicles were impounded as their owners failed to present valid documents of policemen on duty.

The drive was led by the Area Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and ACP (Traffic), with support from Station House Officers (SHOs) and Emergency Response System (ERS) zone in-charges. The ERS team played a key role in ensuring smooth operations, while the Field Media Team (FMT) documented the campaign and conducted awareness drives to educate citizens on the importance of following traffic rules.

“This initiative aimed to address common yet dangerous violations that pose a risk to public safety. By targeting high-risk behaviour, the Jalandhar Police reinforced its commitment to fostering safer roads and a culture of responsible driving,” said Mahesh Kumar, ACP (Traffic).
