The city is all set to host its third edition of the ‘One Race Jalandhar Half Marathon’ — ‘Daud Jalandhar’ — on December 1.

The race will start from the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium and will include half marathon (21.1 km), 10 km and 5 km race. More than 4,000 national and international level runners are participating in the race. World famous 114-year-old marathon runner Fauja Singh will specially arrive on the occasion. The race will be started by blade runner Maj DP Singh, GOC, Vajra Corps, Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Agarwal, Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Gautam Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Ankur Gupta, Olympians Manpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh. International runner Harmilan Bains will flag off the runners at 6:30 am.

The route of the race has been divided into two parts. The 21 km and 10 km runners will start from Guru Gobind Singh Stadium and will proceed from Iconic Mall via Cool Road to Urban Estate Phase-2 Market, Taj Food World via 66 Feet Road, Curo Mall, White Diamond, Jalandhar Heights and CT Institute. Taking a U-turn, the race will return on the same route and reach Guru Gobind Singh Stadium. The 5-km runners will start from Guru Gobind Singh Stadium and will pass through Mall Road, Agarwal Dhaba, Johal Market, Income Tax Colony, Urban Estate-2 Market and reach back to the stadium.
