The city has suffered a major setback as its ranking under the Swachh Survekshan has dropped abysmally. Last year, Jalandhar was ranked at 154. This year, the city’s rank dropped to 239.

MC Commissioner Aditya Uppal said cleanliness was his first priority. He said, “My prime focus is on city’s cleanliness. The rank will definitely improve next year.”
