According to SHO Bhushan Kumar, the police received a call on the 112 emergency number regarding the altercation. Upon arrival, the police intervened, separating both groups and controlling the situation. Gurdeep Singh, one of the seriously injured, was referred to Jalandhar for further treatment, while three others continue to receive care at the Civil Hospital.

Gurdeep Singh and his son Parmjeet alleged that the rival group was misrepresenting the case against them and claimed that the police were forcibly sending them to Jalandhar. In contrast, Baljeet Singh and Balbir Singh presented CCTV footage, asserting that Gurdeep Singh’s family had stolen a rooster from outside their home. They stated that when they went to lodge a complaint, they were attacked, resulting in injuries.

Dr Manip from the Civil Hospital confirmed that all four patients had sustained injuries, with Gurdeep Singh requiring head sutures. The doctor clarified that there was no evidence of any religious or cultural desecration, dismissing claims of “disrespect” during the hospital altercation.

The police have confirmed that an investigation is underway, and no individual will be spared if found guilty.
