CME held on ayurveda

Jalandhar, September 12

A six-day long CME (Continuing Medical Education) programme was conducted for private and government ayurveda practitioners at Dayanand Ayurvedic College, Jalandhar.

The oldest college in Jalandhar to start the institutional study in Ayurveda, the college was established in 1898. The CME event at the college was funded by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of lndia, and organised through All lndia Ayurveda Congress (AIAC), New Delhi. Dr Sanjeev Sood, Principal, Dayanand Ayurveda College, briefed mediapersons that in these six-day long programme 30 participants from different states, including West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, participated enthusiastically.

Experts from various specialties from different institutes delivered their lectures stressing on the applied aspects of ayurveda, including diet, health, eye disorders herbs and panchkarma along with recent updates of Ayurveda which will be very beneficial for the private and government. Ayurveda Practitioners in their zeal to practise Ayurveda in future.

The CME was inaugurated on September 6, by chief guest Dr Sanjeev Goyal, Registrar, Board of Ayurvedic & Unani System of Medicine, Punjab, and GRAU, Hoshiarpur, and guest of honour Vd. Anil Bhardwaj, secretary, Punjab State Ayurvedic Congress.

Twelve experts who delivered lectures and gave demonstrations during the CME were Dr Parveen (Kumar Bansal, Joint Director, BFUHS, Faridkot. Dr. Gaurav Parmar, Assistant Professor, Department of Shalya Tantra, RGGPG Ay. College, Paprola (H.P.), Dr. Anoop Gakkhar, Director Rishikul campus Uttarakhand University, Uttarakhand, Dr Sanjeev Sood, Professor Department of Panchakarma, Dayanand Ayurvedic College, Jalandhar, Dr Tipu, associate professor, Department of Shalakya Tantra, Dr Chander Shekhar, Professor, Department of Kaya Chikitsa, Dayanand Ayurveda College, Jalandhar, Dr. Parveen Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Panchakarma, Dayanand Ayurveda College, Jalandhar, Dr Pooja Sabhaarwal, Assistant Professor, Department of Rachna Sharir, Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurveda Charak Sansthan, New Delhi and Dr Meena Parmar, Assistant Professor, Department of Prasooti Tantra, RGGPG Ayurveda College, Paprola (HP), Dr Davinder Kumar, Professor, Department of Shalya Tantra, Dr Rajesh Sharma from A&U Tibbia college and Dr. Sakshi Sharma Research Officer from CCRAS.

Dr Ramesh Arya, Vice- President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi honoured the trainees doctors and staff of Dayanand Ayurvedic College, Jalandhar, who invested their best efforts for successful completion of this 6 days long programme.

He praised principal Dr Sanjeev Sood for guiding his staff to complete this CME programme in which Covid protocol was properly followed. He told the participants about the benefits of Ayurveda and acknowledged its benefits to general people during COVID-L9 pandemic.

Certificates were distributed among 30 participants for their active participation and mementoes were provided to the speakers.

A vote of thanks was given by Dr Parveen Kumar. ln the end, Dr Ramesh Arya congratulated the All lndia Ayurvedic Congress and Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of lndia for the successful completion of this programme with his best wishes to Dayanand Ayurveda College to conduct such programmes in future.
