Congress MLA Sukhwinder Kotli’s nephew beaten to death in Beas
Congress MLA from Adampur Sukhwinder S Kotli’s nephew was beaten to death late Tuesday evening at Beas village.
Soon after the incident, Adampur police reached the spot and launched investigation into the matter.
The deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar alias Sunny.
According to reports, Sunny was sitting at a tavern with his friends when the incident occurred. A group of eight men, not known to Sunny and his friends, were sitting around another table at the tavern.
Sunny reportedly went to their table and started a conversation. After this, the deceased got a call and he got too annoyed. The youth with whom he was sitting on the other table started beating Sunny. They even fetched a baseball bat and hit him hard with it several times, leaving him dead.
The other two boys along with Sunny were critically injured and are undergoing treatment.
The police have arrested three of the eight youth in the case, including the main accused Kamaljit Singh of Wadala village and Surinder SIngh of Khoha village. They are on a lookout for the remaining five, including Anmol, Daman, Sunil and Paramjit Singh.
Congress MLA Kotli has appealed to SSP Jalandhar (Rural) Harkamalpreet S Khakh to arrest all the accused in the incident. He said that the gruesome murder had once again brought to light the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
