Tributes were paid to the martyrs of the Police Department and paramilitary forces during a remembrance ceremony held at the Police Lines here today. The event marked the Police Shahadat Smriti Diwas.

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and District Police Chief Surendra Lamba, along with various officers and family members of the martyrs, paid tributes to the martyrs at the police memorial at police lines and remembered their sacrifices.

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said the sacrifices of the martyrs could never be forgotten. “The district administration salutes the martyrs of the country,” he said.

SSP Surendra Lamba said that the district police was committed to providing all possible assistance to the martyrs’ families. He mentioned Constable Amritpal Singh, who was shot dead during a raid operation at Mansoorpur village in March. Mementoes were also presented to the family members of the martyrs.
