Construction of 2 major roads begins in Phagwara village

Construction work on two major roads in village Panchhatt, falling under the Phagwara Assembly constituency, was officially launched today at an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakh. The inauguration of the project was jointly carried out by Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Member of Parliament from Hoshiarpur (AAP), and Joginder Singh Mann, party in-charge of the Phagwara Assembly segment.

Mann stated that the road from Rawalpindi to Mayopatti is being constructed at a cost of Rs 25.97 lakh, while the road from Government High School, Panchhatt, to the canal will be built at an expenditure of Rs 4.15 lakh.

He emphasised that the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to developing villages on par with urban areas. Special attention is being given to the construction and improvement of key access roads connecting rural regions.

Mann assured the comprehensive development of village Panchhatt and stated that the scale of development carried out in Punjab’s rural belts under the Bhagwant Mann administration sets a new precedent. He added that this wave of development will continue uninterrupted.

MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal also reiterated that development across all villages in the Phagwara constituency is being carried out based strictly on merit and necessity. He assured that there will be no shortage of grants for genuine developmental works.

Upon their arrival in village Panchhat, both Dr Chabbewal and Joginder Singh Mann received a warm welcome led by former Sarpanch Surjit Singh and current Sarpanch Kulwant Kaur, along with local residents.

Among those present on the occasion were Kirpal Singh Khaliyan, Inderjit Singh, Jagdish Singh, former Sarpanch Amarjeet Singh, former Sarpanch Malkit Singh, Sarpanch Nachhatar Singh of Randhirgarh and Narinder Kumar Parmar, among others.
