The Nurmahal police have booked villagers on the charge of attacking an employee of a contractor working for a highway construction company.
Investigating Officer (IO) Bodh Raj said the accused have been identified as Iqbal Singh and Jaskaran Singh, residents of Fateh Pur village, Balvir Singh, a resident of Nahal village, and Sohan Singh, a resident of Kot Badal Kan village. Munish Sharma, a resident of Mathura in UP and presently residing at Talwann-Poadhrra Road, complained to the police stating that he works as a lining executive for a contractor of MKC Infrastructure and was going to attend duty on July 20 when he learned that some persons had stopped construction work in between Fateh Pur-Rame Wal villages and reached the spot.
Munish Sharma said that the accused attacked and seriously injured him, snatching his gold chain, money and a mobile phone, adding that the police reached the spot and rescued him. He was rushed to Nurmahal Civil Hospital from where he was referred to Jalandhar Civil Hospital.
The IO said a cas has been registered against the accused. — OC
