Cooperatives expert invited to deliver lecture in Sydney

Sidharath Shankar Sharma, advisor in the Department of Co-operation, Govt of Haryana, and a renowned business leader from Jalandhar, has been invited to deliver a lecture at the New South Wales (NSW) Parliament, Sydney, on August 14.
The lecture, titled ‘Opportunities in cooperatives and cooperation between cooperatives’, will be hosted at the invitation of the parliamentary secretary of the NSW State Parliament.
With over 24 years of experience in both private and government sectors, Sharma has been instrumental in designing, developing and executing innovative strategies. His roles include serving as a professional advisor for the Department of Co-operation for the Government of Punjab from December 2018 to March 2022, where he created and implemented policies related to new income for the government and employment generation.
In his current role with the Government of Haryana, Sharma works closely with the Minister of Cooperation and Panchayats. His efforts have focused on establishing cooperative tie-ups aimed at generating revenue and fostering job creation, as well as crafting cooperative-based policies. He has also worked in countries such as Singapore, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand and the UAE.
During his visit to the NSW State Parliament, he will highlight the significant potential within the cooperative sector and the benefits of enhanced cooperation between cooperatives. His lecture will draw on his extensive experience and successful initiatives, offering insights into market research, building robust business models, and spearheading new business development.
