The Kapurthala police, headed by Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Toora, organised dozens of meetings in rural and urban areas under Operation Sampark, which aims at developing strong connections with the community, besides addressing their grievances.

SSP Toora said the police engaged in regular community meetings, police-citizen interactions, youth engagement, social media engagement and neighborhood policing.

Under this series the Phagwara police held meetings at Nangal Majha and Saprod villages today.

Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti and DSP Bharat Bhushan interacted with the residents and listened to their grievances, apart from taking first-hand information on police performance.

SSP Toora said the Punjab Police initiated a special campaign against petty crimes and drug smugglers and had launched a ‘Safe Punjab Anti-Drug Helpline number 9779100200’, which allowed citizens to report drug traffickers anonymously.
