In an effort to increase road safety and enforce traffic regulations, the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate recently concluded a three-day traffic enforcement drive. The drive was designed to target critical areas, with inspections at busy markets and high-traffic zones, ensuring thorough enforcement of traffic laws.

During the drive, the police focused on a range of traffic violations, with 18 challans issued for triple riding on motorcycles, 13 for riding without helmets and 10 for vehicles lacking number plates. Other violations, including the use of illegal black films on windows, led to 18 challans, while seven challans were issued for modified Bullet motorcycles, and four for driving without a valid licence. In total, over 540 vehicles were checked, ensuring compliance with road safety standards.

The enforcement effort was led by the area’s Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) along with their SHOs and zone in-charges. The Emergency Response System (ERS) provided crucial operational support, ensuring smooth inspection, while the Field Media Team (FMT) monitored the activities and raised public awareness about the importance of following traffic safety rules.
