Stepping up vigil ahead of Independence Day, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has deployed hi-tech nakas at five strategically significant locations across the city. The security check-points have been designed to act as deterrence against criminal activities, maintain law and order, and enhance public safety during this sensitive period.

Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur conducted a detailed inspection of all naka points. She said each naka shall remain under the supervision of an ACP-rank police officer. The nakas have been set up at Grain Market T-Point near Workshop Chowk, GNA Chowk, Dhogri Mor, BSF Chowk, and Wariana Mor. These check-points are equipped with advanced barricading systems, various advanced devices, and emergency response equipment.

A special emphasis is being laid on screening of suspicious vehicles and individuals, particularly at entry and exit points of the city. During the checking, the PAIS App was used to verify the criminal records of suspected individuals. The Commissionerate Police has urged all citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to the Police Helpline at 112.
