A month ago, the AAP MLA was acquitted in a three-year-old gambling case.

Angural was the then Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) SC Morcha’s national executive member. Angural, his brother Rajan Angural and four others – Jolly, Jinny, Deepa and Chirag – were booked for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old boy. A local court acquitted Angural brothers and other suspects in the case after the witnesses in the case turned hostile.

In his complaint, the child had stated that on March 11, 2020, Rajan called him to the office, where all suspects were present. He had alleged that Angurals and their associates accused him of planting heroin in the office after getting Rs 25,000 from two persons.

“They assaulted and injured me and then called a doctor to the office, who bandaged my wounds,” the child had said.

He alleged that later he was taken to a village in Mukerian where he was threatened of dire consequences if he shared anything with his family members. The minor’s video was allegedly recorded under pressure and was released five days later. The child’s mother questioned him about the bandages, following which he told them about the incident.
