The Beas water level remained static at 1.16 lakh cusecs, causing damage to standing paddy crops sown over 25 to 30 acres in the mand areas of Sultanpur Lodhi, according to an official of the Drainage Department.

Department SDO Khushwinder Singh confirmed that the swollen Beas river has inundated more than 20 villages.

Meanwhile, followers of MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal strengthen the weak points on the banks of advance bundh near village Ahlikalan by putting 1,000 sand bags to save bundh from the fury of floods.

Farmers Balwinder Singh and Ranjit Singh expressed gratitude to Seechewal for strengthening the bundh at Ahlikalan and saved their nearly 150 acres of paddy crops from the fury of flood water.
