Cultural evening marks Sainik Schools National Games

As part of the ongoing All-India Sainik Schools National Games-2025 being held at Sainik School, Kapurthala, a vibrant cultural programme was presented on Wednesday alongside the sports events. The central theme of the cultural evening was the message of ‘Unity in Diversity’ that defines the spirit of India.

The event commenced with a performance by Sainik School, Sujanpur Tira. Their presentation reflected glimpses of the hills, along with captivating folk music and traditional attire. The performance also effectively highlighted the impact of drug abuse in society and the decline in moral values.

Next came Sainik School, Nagrota, whose cadets performed the patriotic song ‘Ae Watan – Ae Watan, Humko Teri Kasam’ which was a heartfelt tribute to the nation. Their act also portrayed the commitment of youth towards pursuing their dreams based on personal choices.

Sainik School, Nabha, followed with a devotional musical performance, showcasing a spiritual inclination. Their act also brought attention to the pressing issue of child labour, which left a strong impact on the audience.

The cadets of Sainik School, Kunjpura, then took the stage. Haryana, known as the land of agriculture, warriors and industry, was proudly represented. Their act emphasised that protecting the motherland is the highest duty. The energetic Haryanvi folk dance won everyone’s hearts.

Following this, Punjab — the land of rich culture, delicious cuisine and sacred historical sites — was represented by Sainik School, Kapurthala. Their performance conveyed a message of making India prosperous and progressive, with a strong call for environmental responsibility and reducing carbon emissions. Finally, the cadets of Sainik School, Khara Kheri, took the stage. Their group song ‘Hum Ek Hain, Hum Ek Hain’ conveyed a powerful message of national unity. The act also reflected the stress and hustle of modern life in a meaningful way.

At the conclusion of the programme, chief guest Group Captain Madhu Sengar and Principal of Sainik School, Kapurthala, felicitated the winners with trophies. The event was graced by Commander Sandeep Singh Virk, vice-principal and Lt Col Umesh Mole, Administrative Officer, along with other dignitaries and members of the school community.
