Daksh Bhatti tops NTSE in district, Mridul comes 2nd

Daksh Bhatti, a student of Apeejay School, has topped the district in the stage 1 of the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), the results of which were declared on Monday. He bagged the sixth rank in the state.
Daksh secured 186 marks out of 200 — 94 in the mental ability test and 92 in scholastic aptitude test. Mridul Gupta, a student of Innocent Hearts School, bagged the second position in the district with 185 marks. Mridul has bagged the ninth rank in the state.
The stage 1 of the NTSE was held in November 2019, while the stage 2 will be held in May in New Delhi. The NTSE is a scholarship exam for school students. The stage 1 was organised by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Chandigarh.
A total of 46,563 candidates appeared for the examination and the state topper has bagged 190 marks. Daksh and Mridul gave credit for the success to their parents and teachers. They said sheer hard work and concentration in the classroom helped them cracked the examination.
Daksh said, “I am thankful to my uncle Kulwinder Singh Gakhal who gave me tips on mental ability. My mother took care of my science, while my aunt Jyoti Narang taught me SST. My father used to help me solve tough problems of Chemistry.” “Now, I am preparing for the stage 2 exam. I am hopeful of making my city, state and school proud in the upcoming examination as well,” said Mridul.
A total 18 students cleared NTSE in the district and of them, seven are from Apeejay School. Besides Daksh, Sarthak Kapoor, Arnav Anand, Abhinav Singh, Dhruv Jain, Manan Sethi and Aditya Chauhan, all students of Apeejay School, have cleared the exam.
