Hoshiarpur: DAV College, Hoshiarpur, has been ranked among the top 100 colleges of the country for the third consecutive year in the survey conducted by the India Today. Principal Neerja Dhingra said 1,302 institutions from 175 cities had participated, in which the college attained the 35th position in the BCA in the country and 3rd in Punjab. In BA, the college has been ranked 75th at the national- level and 4th at the state-level. In BCom, it has been placed at the 76th position in the country and 5th at the state-level. For BSc, it stands at 96th position and on 5th position at the state-level. College principal Neerja Dhingra said the college was the first college of the district to start with blended learning, e-learning and other techniques of mixed learning. OC
Novel protest by Advocates
Garhshankar: Under the leadership of member of the state executive of the Punjab Sub Divisional Bar Association Pankaj Kirpal and president of the Bar Association, Garhshankar, the lawyers on Friday expressed their anger by selling vegetables at the Garhshankar Court Complex. Advocate Pankaj Kripal said the legal community had been inactive for the past three months and there was no possibility of lawyers working for the next three months. He said lawyers had no social and economic security. He said it was difficult for the legal community to feed their families and the staff which works under them. He said the pandemic had forced the lawyers to take up other businesses. He said neither the Central Government nor the Punjab Government provided any financial assistance to the lawyers facing losses due to Covid. OC
