As part of the state government’s ongoing ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign, the DC, Dr Himanshu Aggarwal, visited the de-addiction and rehabilitation centre in Sheikhe village, near Jandu Singha, on Wednesday.

Dr Aggarwal directed health department officials to ensure patients receive proper care, counselling and are engaged in productive activities to help them fully overcome drug addiction. The 30-bed facility is currently treating 11 patients.

Accompanied by SDM Randeep Singh Heer and Civil Surgeon Dr Gurmeet Lal, Dr Aggarwal interacted with the patients to learn more about the services provided at the centre. He assured the patients the district administration would offer skill training and employment opportunities to aid in their rehabilitation.
