Implementing directions issued by the Revenue Department, Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh on Thursday issued orders to place boards outside the booths of deed writers highlighting details of prescribed fee for different works.

Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh has sought report on the implementation of the order from all sub-registrars or joint sub-registrars within two days

The DC also sought report, in this regard, from all sub-registrars or joint sub-registrars within two days. He said these boards should be put at such places outside booths from where the people could easily get the inforomation for getting different document writing by deed writers. The details to be mentioned on boards include the process for registration of deed, fee, collector rates, etc.

To facilitate the people, collector rates should also be displayed on these boards, said the DC adding that these rates could also be got through website of the district administration and from the offices of sub-registrar concerned. He said the proof of ownership, copy of fard, allotment letter, old registry of property, NOC, if property falls within jurisdiction of Development Authority or Improvement Trust along with Aadhar card, PAN card and two passport size photos should be ensured.

The DC informed that if the deed registration fee is above Rs 19,999 then the people could proceed for cashless stamp duty, which was available at Sewa Kendra and banks affiliated by Stock Holding Corporation. Under e-Stamp only fee equal to stamp duty will be deposited while if the stamp duty is below Rs 19,999, then manual stamp papers can be used without giving any commission.

For deed writing, fees has already been prescribed, including Rs 500 for deed of property, Rs 200 for power of attorney, agreement, will and adoption deed, Rs 50 for transfer deed and Rs 25 for other deeds.
