DC hands over appointment letters to 193 candidates

Hoshiarpur, September 17

In association with the IMA, under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Scheme of the state government, 193 candidates were selected in healthcare ventures on Thursday. Renowned hospital of Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur districts selected doctors, staff nurses, lab technicians and ward attendants.

More than 300 candidates appeared in the interview-cum-placement at the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises here. Three doctors, 150 staff nurses and 40 healthcare and allied workers, including lab technicians, ward attendants, ambulance drivers, sweepers, drivers and computer operators. Good salary was offered to the selected candidates. Nineteen hospitals like Ivy, Shivam, RRM Central, Aman Hospital, Universal Hospital and Trauma Centre, JJ Children Hospital, Ravindra Nursing Home, Narad Hospital, Gulati Hospital, Capitol Hospital Jalandhar, Patel Hospital, Sarvodaya Hospital, NHS, Johal Hospital, Tagore Hospital, Oxford Hospital, Vassal Hospital and Altis Hospital Jalandhar selected the candidates of their choice. Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait handed over appointment letter to some of the selected candidates.

Apneet Riyait said this was the third exclusive employment fair for healthcare sector and the district administration would also organise fourth healthcare sector mega job fair shortly for the recruitment of doctors, staff nurses and other paramedical staff, etc. She expressed gratitude to the Indian Medical Association and its president Dr Harish Bassi for their support and cooperation to make this event a great success.

The Deputy Commissioner also lauded the efforts of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises especially District Employment Officer Karam Singh, placement officer Mangesh Sood, career counsellor Aditya Rana and their entire team for ensuring jobs to unemployed youngsters. Earlier, 52 staff nurses were selected by the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises in the first and second edition of the job fair.
