Kapurthala: DC makes video calls, asks about doorstep delivery of services

To check the doorstep delivery of citizen-centric services through the 1076 helpline number launched by Punjab Government, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal today made direct video calls to applicants and interacted with them.

In a random call, Panchal spoke with two applicants, namely, Lakhwinder Singh and Pratima Kaur. Lakhwinder Singh told the DC that he rang up 1076 to get birth certificate a few days back and the Sewa Sahayak delivered the document after completing the entire process.

Pratima Kaur, who had applied for social security pension, also said that the formalities were completed following the phone call.

Meanwhile, three other applicants, Suresh Kumar Dutta, Komal Kumar and Rajinder Kaur, also appreciated the endeavour. Dutta, a resident of Model Town, stated that he had applied for translation of birth certificates through the Sewa Sahayak and got the documents within a couple of days at home. Rajinder Kaur said her work also got done after she sought help on the number.
