DC reviews development works
Urges all departments to work collectively for eradicating substance abuse
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing development works in the district and emphasised that all eligible beneficiaries should receive the benefits of welfare schemes, while urging departments to accelerate project implementation.
Chairing a meeting of officials from various departments at the District Administrative Complex, she also sought updates on departmental activities.
Addressing the Anti-Narcotics Committee, the DC highlighted the need for all departments to work together to eliminate substance abuse from society. She directed the School Education Department, Health Department, Drug Controller, Excise and Taxation, Police, and other concerned departments to implement all necessary measures at their level to curb drug use.
In a separate Road Safety meeting, DC Jain instructed the authorities to enhance safety measures at identified black spots to prevent accidents. The Transport Department reported that 23 black spots have been marked in the district. Regarding the Safe School Vehicle Policy, the District Child Protection Officer informed that 126 school vehicles were checked in August, resulting in 5 challans, while the Police Department issued 4,207 challans as part of the enforcement drive during the same period.
The DC instructed all officials to ensure timely and quality completion of all projects.
