She was accompanied by SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik, ADC (Rural Development) Nikas Kumar, and officials from the Drainage, Health, and Police departments. The DC conducted inspections at Rada Mand, Miyani Mand, Abdullahpur, the Dhussi dam along the Beas river and the villages of Motala and Mehtabpur. She instructed all departments to remain prepared for emergencies and maintain constant coordination with the Bhakra Beas Management Board and the state Drainage Department.

“Immediate action will be taken in any emergency. We are closely monitoring controlled water release from Pong Dam and regularly inspecting the strength of Dhussi dams,” stated DC Ashika Jain.

MLA Tanda Jasvir Singh Raja Gill lauded the administration’s field-level presence and reiterated that the Punjab government’s top priority is to ensure every affected citizen receives timely relief.

The DC informed that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is personally monitoring the flood situation. “The Chief Minister has given clear instructions that any kind of negligence or deficiency in relief and rescue operations will not be tolerated,” she added.

The district has ensured adequate stocks of essential supplies including medicines, tarpaulins, boats, food items, and other necessary materials. A total of eleven boats have been stationed across the district—five at Tanda and Dasuya, four at Mukerian, and two at the district headquarters—ready for immediate deployment in case of emergencies.

“Our priority is that no citizen should face any inconvenience. We are fully equipped and working day and night to ensure safety, relief, and timely rescue,” DC Ashika Jain reassured.

She also confirmed that coordination with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been established for swift assistance whenever required.
