DC takes stock of amenities at Nikku Park
Jalandhar, July 30
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Himanshu Aggarwal today visited the local Nikku Park to inspect the cleanliness and water drainage arrangements during the monsoon season to ensure that no water gets stagnant in the park.
He instructed the managers of the Model Town Children’s Park Committee and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Jasbir Singh to ensure thorough cleanliness in the park so that children and their parents visiting the park during the monsoon season do not face any inconvenience.
He also emphasised that continuous maintenance of the swings in the park should be taken special care of as it directly relates to the safety of the children. Additionally, the DC directed the committee to immediately send proposals for installing new swings for the children’s entertainment in the park.
He asked Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh to personally monitor the upkeep of the park as it is not only a major recreational spot for children but also a symbol of the identity of the city of Jalandhar. — OC
