Employees and pensioners from various unions held a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Nawanshahr, expressing their frustration over the government's continued neglect of their long-standing demands.

The protest, led by Jagtar Singh, Joga Singh and Kashmir Singh, culminated outside the District Treasury Office.

Addressing a gathering, union leaders Gurmel Chand, Kuldeep Singh Daurka and others criticized the government for delaying action on key issues, affecting both current and retired employees. They highlighted how the unresolved problems—such as discrepancies in salaries and pensions, and delays in pending dues—have made daily survival increasingly difficult for many.

The protesters condemned the government’s repeated failure to engage in meaningful dialogue, despite giving time slots for meetings with the joint front of employees and pensioners. Union leaders warned that this ongoing disregard could have political consequences for the Aam Aadmi Party in future elections.

Following the protest, a demand letter addressed to the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister was handed over to the District Treasury Officer.
