Develop martyrs’ memorial, Rinku requests Shekhawat
Jalandhar, July 26
Punjab BJP leader and former MP from Jalandhar Sushil Rinku has raised the issue of developing Samadhi Sthal of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh at Hussainiwala during his meeting with Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Delhi.
Rinku said the site on the Indo-Pak border, about 10 km from Ferozepur, was being neglected and it should be developed. He also handed over a demand letter to the minister. He requested him to build an international-level museum at Hussainiwala, so that the country and the world came to know that the ashes of martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were immersed in the Sutlej at this place.
Rinku also asked the minister to start educational programmes with tour to the National Martyr Memorial at Hussainiwala so that not only tourists, but also the future generations know about their lives and sacrifice in a better way.
Rinku said the minister had assured him that the Central Government would work to improve the National Martyr Memorial.
