Devotees mark Vishwakarma Puja with fervour; community service in Phagwara

Shri Vishwakarma Temple, located on Banga Road, Phagwara, was the centre of a grand celebration on the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja Day. The event, marked by devotion and enthusiasm, commenced at 9.00 am with a sacred havan yajna. Temple committee members paid floral tributes to the statue of the temple’s founder, Pandit Natthu Ram Dhiman.

The flag-hoisting ceremony was carried out by the Sabha’s Vice President, Surinder Pal Dhiman, followed by blessings and well wishes from Sabha President, Pradeep Dhiman, who extended his greetings to all devotees on this auspicious occasion.

A large congregation of devotees gathered to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Vishwakarma. Several Vishwakarma temple committees from neighbouring regions also participated in the festivities. Devotional hymns were sung in praise of Lord Vishwakarma, and a langar (community feast) was provided to all attendees.

Special guests at the event included Mayor Rampal Uppal and Chairperson of the Ramgarhia Institute, Manpreet Kaur Bhogal. Both were honored with traditional siropas (shawls of respect) by Sabha President, Pradeep Dhiman.

In a notable gesture of community service, the Shri Vishwakarma Charitable Hospital Trust organised a free eye, joint check-up and knee replacement awareness camp, where nearly 300 patients received medical consultations and free medicines.

Among those in attendance during the mela were Jaspal Singh Lal (Patron), Sant Nachhattar Singh Lal, Cashier Subhash Dhiman, Bhupinder Singh Jandhu, Prashant Dhiman, Ashok Dhiman, Amolak Singh Jhita, Narinder Singh Tattar, Tirath Singh Padam, Narinder Singh Bhachu, Arun Ruparay, Ravinder Singh Panesar, Sukhwinder Singh Kundi, Gurmukh Singh Lal, Reet Preet Pal Singh Bhamra, Harjeet Singh Bhamra, Premdeep Chagar, Vishal Bhogal, and Balwinder Singh Ratan, among others.
