Disabled Persons Welfare Society organises seminar on Teacher’s Day

In observance of Teacher’s Day, the Disabled Persons Welfare Society organised a seminar to raise awareness about the pivotal role of teachers in the lives of differently-abled children at Model Town Club.

The seminar, centred on the theme “Teachers’ Role in Shaping Attitude towards Differently-Abled Children,” aimed to highlight the significance of inclusive education.

The event was chaired by retired Principal Desh Veer Sharma, with Dr Nirmala Devi, Assistant Professor (Sociology) at GNDU, delivering the keynote address. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a rendition of Saraswati Vandana by music teacher Ranjeet Singh.

In their speeches, President Sandeep Sharma and Coordinator Pooja Vishisht extended a warm welcome to all guests. Both emphasised the need for equal rights and respect for differently-abled individuals. Dr Nirmala Devi underscored the importance of educational equality, while Desh Veer Sharma urged teachers to remain vigilant and supportive of children with special needs.

The seminar featured additional sessions, including presentations on Vastu and numerology by Rita Gupta. Retired Professor Aruna Shukla opened the event with a quote from the Ramayana.
