Display permits on buses, says RTA Secy

Secretary, Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Dr Nayan, has directed that all buses must display permits on the vehicles in the manner prescribed by the State Transport Commissioner.
Dr Nayan said as per Punjab Transport Scheme 2018 Section 7, the permits issued for a route should carry the registration numbers of buses that were to ply on that route and permit should be displayed on the vehicle.
She further said: “As per Section 10, all buses must have CCTV cameras, GPS, radio frequency identification tags, panic buttons and vehicle tracking system as per the standard protocol AS140.”
“All timetables must have also permit numbers and bus numbers and asked all private bus operators to submit the same in her office,” added the RTA.
