Jalandhar, July 21
Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh on Wednesday made a surprise visit to Sewa Kendra in the local District Administrative Complex and interacted with the people present there.
He directed the officials deputed at these kendras to provide the requisite services within stipulated time frame without any fail. The DC said there were 35 such sewa kendras functional in the district, which provided 320 online and 105 offline services. A total of 425 citizen services pertaining to various government departments were being provided, he added.
Urging people to also get newly included services on the list, Singh said people could receive services of the Agriculture Department, Punjab Technical University and those related to passport, etc. The applicants can also book online slot for several services.
Instructing officials deputed at Sewa Kendras to get the list of services along with charges displayed in these centres, the DC mentioned that this would be beneficial for the people who could get necessary information from these boards.
All staff members should also check the forms of applicants meticulously so as to avert any further shortcomings besides maintaining efficiency in delivery of accurate documents saving their time. He also reviewed the system of issuing tokens, submission of documents besides delivery of services.
