District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Rajinder Aggarwal, and CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Neeraj Goyal, visited the De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre, Hoshiarpur.
During their interaction with the patients admitted to the centre, they were informed that, as per the directives of the Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali), an anti-drug awareness campaign called “Youth Against Drugs” is being run from December 6th to January 6th.
The primary objective of this campaign is to inspire the young generation to abandon drug abuse and move towards a brighter future, and to make society drug-free. The cooperation of all citizens is required in this noble cause so that the youth of the country can reach new heights in life.
On this occasion, Chief Legal Aid Defense Councilor Vishal Kumar provided detailed information to the centre’s patients about NALSA’s “Drugs Awareness and Wellness Navigation - For a Drug-Free India” plan 2025, the adverse effects of drug addiction on health, family, and social life, and the legal provisions of the NDPS Act.
He also explained the upcoming National Lok Adalat, scheduled for December 13, 2025. This Lok Adalat resolves pending and pre-litigation cases with mutual consent of both parties. There is no appeal against the Lok Adalat’s decision, saving both time and money.
Present during the visit were the Medical Officer in Charge, Dr Jasleen Kaur, Psychiatrist Dr Simran Saini, Counselors Prashant, Parminder Kaur, Rajwinder Kaur, and Manager Nisha Rani.
