Diwali in mind, Kapurthala MC gets new fire tenders
Govt grants Rs 4.84 cr to Kapurthala MC for road improvement
Keeping Diwali and the upcoming festivals in mind, the government has provided new modern fire-fighting vehicles to the Municipal Corporation, Kapurthala. These include mini fire tenders, Tata Yodha fire tenders and other fire-fighting equipment.
Anupam Kler, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, said with the receipt of these vehicles, any fire incident in the inner parts of the city will now be controlled quickly. With the new vehicles, the capacity of the Fire Brigade Department will further increase and even narrow streets or confined areas will be easily accessible.
Kler said the risk of fire incidents increases during the festive season, hence the preparations have been completed by the Municipal Corporation. She said orders have been issued to the department staff to remain alert and the equipment has also been checked.
She said the arrival of new vehicles will not only increase the strength of the fire brigade, but also boost the confidence of city residents in safety. The Municipal Corporation has appealed to the people to follow the fire safety rules during the festivals.
