Divulging the details about dengue Dr Satish Kumar said the disease was transmitted by the bite of Aedes mosquito that usually targets at daytime. He said severe headache, pain behind the eyes, muscles, and joint pains are the symptoms of the disease. The Aedes mosquito breeds in desert coolers, water storage containers, tyres, overhead tanks and places where rainwater collects or is stored.

He asked the teachers and students to motivate the people to keep all water storage containers covered, besides old tyres, broken pots, crockery should be removed. He told that insecticides, petrol, and kerosene must be sprayed in coolers and containers once a week, which cannot be emptied or cleaned.
