Doctors-XI in semi-finals, beat Corporation-XI
In the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Yadgari Premium League being organised by the HDCA in collaboration with the PCA to make people aware about drug abuse, Doctors-XI today entered the semi-finals by defeating Corporation-XI by 121 runs, thanks to a powerful innings of 161 runs by Dr Rupinder Sandhu.
Giving information in this regard, HDCA Secretary Dr Raman Ghai said in the match played today at DAV School grounds, Doctors-XI won the toss and batted first and scored 233 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Dr Narinder contributed 34 runs. Ganesh Sood bowled brilliantly for Corporation-XI and took three wickets, Gaurav Sharma took two wickets, Raj Kumar and Gagandeep Sharma took one wicket each. Coming to bat for victory in 20 overs, Corporation-XI was all out for XI2 runs in 14.5 overs. Gaurav Sharma contributed 32 runs, Ganesh Sood 22 runs, Captain Sandeep Tiwari 17 runs, Raj Kumar 16 runs and Harish 10 runs for Corporation-XI.
Dr Ranjeet Singh took four wickets, Dr Narinder took three wickets, Dr Hitesh Agrawal took two wickets and Dr Sushant took one wicket while bowling brilliantly for Doctors-XI. The chief guest, MD of Tripam-M Education, Prof Manoj Kapoor, inaugurated the match by introducing the players. On this occasion, he praised the anti-drug league being organised by the HDCA and said that through such events, we can make society aware about the campaign against drug abuse.
