Dr Bhagat takes charge as Kapurthala Civil Surgeon
Emphasises importance of discipline and accountability
Dr Sanjeev Bhagat officially took charge as the new Civil Surgeon of Kapurthala today. Officers from the various district health programmes and staff members extended a warm welcome to him with bouquets at the Civil Surgeon’s office.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhagat said he would fulfil the responsibility entrusted upon him by the government with utmost dedication and integrity. He assured that all healthcare facilities and welfare schemes provided by the government would be effectively implemented at the grassroots level, reaching all residents.
Addressing the staff, Dr Bhagat emphasised the importance of discipline and accountability. “Negligence in duty will not be tolerated,” he cautioned, urging all staff members to perform their responsibilities with sincerity.
Dr Bhagat completed his MBBS from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, in 1990 and joined the Health Department as a Medical Officer in 1995. Over the years, he served in several locations, including Baba Bakala and Amritsar. Prior to his promotion as Civil Surgeon, he was posted as Senior Medical Officer with the 5th IRB (Punjab Police), where he worked for more than eleven years. During his tenure, he accompanied police units on challenging assignments to Gujarat, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and UP.
