To promote proper management of crop residue and mechanisation of agriculture in the district, a draw was conducted on Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal by the district-level Executive Committee to provide agricultural machinery on subsidy to farmers and Custom Hiring Centres under the CRM (Crop Residue Management) and SMAM (Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation) schemes.
At the District Administrative Complex, the DC, while presiding over a meeting, stated that under the Crop Residue Management (CRM) scheme 2025-26, the Department of Agriculture had received online applications via the portal agrimachinerypb.com from April 22 to May 12, for the provision of machinery for proper management of crop residue.
Dr Aggarwal informed that based on the available funds and targets, a draw was conducted for the applications received from individual farmers, and permission was granted for the purchase of 154 different machines and also for 38 Custom Hiring Groups.
In addition, draws were also conducted for applications received under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation (SMAM) Scheme, through which permission was granted for the purchase of 57 different machines by individual farmers and to 12 Custom Hiring Centres.
