In a continued effort to curb drug trafficking and criminal activity, the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate conducted a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) under its ongoing campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ (War against drugs). The operation targeted known drug hotspots and suspected criminal hideouts across City Zone-I.
The crackdown was led by Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, under the direct supervision of DCP (Investigation) Manpreet Singh Dhillon and ADCP-I Akarshi Jain, with coordinated action by the respective Assistant Commissioners of Police.
Multiple police teams were strategically deployed throughout the zone to carry out the operation with precision. The teams raided several identified locations believed to be transit points for drug traffickers, thoroughly searching residences of suspects already under surveillance. Adjoining premises were also inspected to uncover any hidden narcotics or contraband.
As part of the operation, police officers conducted on-the-spot identity verifications to ensure legal compliance and accountability among local residents.
The search extended to remote and hard-to-access areas, ruling out the possibility of illegal activity continuing undetected. Police authorities confirmed that the operation was meticulously planned to dismantle drug supply chains and criminal networks operating within the city.
Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur affirmed the department’s commitment to continuing such operations, stating, “Our aim is to make Jalandhar a safer, drug-free city. We remain firmly dedicated to eliminating the drug menace and safeguarding the health and security of our citizens.”
