The Kapurthala police destroyed a large quantity of narcotics as part of their ongoing anti-drug campaign.

Kapurthala SSP Gaurav Tura said the district-level drug disposal committee supervised the disposal of narcotics seized in 28 cases.

The seized contraband included poppy husk, heroin and cannabis. The disposal process was carried out under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Reiterating the “zero-tolerance” policy towards drugs, SSP Tura emphasised on the ongoing mission to root out drug-related crimes from the state.
