Relief efforts for flood-affected families in Punjab have received a significant boost with the successful delivery of essential supplies and livestock feed to isolated villages.
Jarnail Nangal, Chairman of Improvement Trust, Phagwara and zone in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party SC wing Punjab, along with his team, provided dry fodder to approximately 50 animals stranded in flood waters for the past seven days in Barampur village.
Speaking to the media, Nangal explained that the homes of flood-affected families, including those of Harjit Singh, Amreek Singh and Satnam Singh, were submerged, cutting off access to the village. “When we learned about their situation, the rising waters initially prevented us from reaching them. We advised the families to inform us once a path was cleared.
Today, we arrived with 10 bags of fodder and 200 kilograms of pickles for the animals,” he said. Nangal added that relief operations are going on in all flood-affected villages in the Phagwara area, with authorities committed to ensuring that no basic need goes unmet until normalcy is restored.
