Around 300 employees working under the National Health Mission in Kapurthala district are facing much inconvenience as their employees’ provident fund is not being deposited in their EPF accounts for the past six months.

No info sent by some

The Accounts Officer, Vishal, said the EPF of these employees had been deposited in their respective accounts till July 2023. He, however, said around 50 employees had not sent their correct details in Aadhaar and PAN cards, thus hindering the process.

The EPF of some NHM employees has not been deposited for more than a year, they claimed.

When contacted, Accounts Officer Vishal said the EPF of these employees had been deposited in their respective accounts till July 2023. He, however, said around 50 employees had not sent their correct details in Aadhaar and PAN cards, thus hindering the process. He appealed to these employees to send corrections as early as possible.

It is pertinent to mention here that the employees’ contribution is being deducted regularly from salaries each month by the department. It is strange that it is not being deposited along with equal and mandatory employer’s share by the District Health Society, Kapurthala. Due to this, these employees are being deprived of 8 per cent interest on their total EPF contribution each month.
